Starting from identification of baseline & contamination radiation levels, handling, transporting, storing, decontaminating tubular & equipment and managing the permanent safe disposal of NORM waste at EAEA permanent repository.

Objectives of the Protocol:
This protocol is the first fruit of technical and administrative cooperation between the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority and NORM SOLUTION in order to maintain the safety of dealers with equipment and devices contaminated with natural radioactive materials (NORM) resulting from the activities of the oil and gas sector from exposure to radioactive contaminants.
The decontamination of these equipment and devices allows the oil and gas sector to re-use them again without the need to dispose of them and replace them with new ones, which has the greatest impact in providing hard currency necessary for the import of such equipment from abroad and also limits the legal and security responsibility of the Sector companies as a result of the commitment to apply the technical and legal standards for the storage of radioactive contaminated equipment under their responsibilities, and maximizes the utilization of human resources and economic and contribute to the economic growth of our beloved Egypt.
